Every material we use behaves differently over time. Here is what to expect from each one, and how to keep it looking like something you chose on purpose.
Undyed and unbleached, felted under heat and pressure so it holds a shape with no internal frame. Spot-clean with cool water. It will pill in the first weeks and then settle.
Tanned with bark rather than chrome, so it starts pale and stiff and darkens into the shape of the animal wearing it. Keep it dry where you can; feed it once a year.
High-fired and food safe, dishwasher safe on a normal cycle. The glaze is matte by design and will show water marks until it dries.
Colour is added to the fibre rather than the surface, so it holds up to sun without fading. Covers unzip and wash cool.
Finished with a hardwax oil rather than lacquer, so small marks can be sanded back and re-oiled instead of replaced.
A torn cover or a failed fitting is usually a part, not a whole new piece. Send us a photo and we will work out what you need.
